ASC is excited to announce some big changes:

Þ     Following the recent AGM our name has changed to Aberdeen Snowsports Club.

While we are sad to see a famous name being replaced we must reflect the modern reality of our target membership – skiers and riders, whatever shape of plank they stand on. (We keep our famous initials – ASC).

Þ     We have a new committee with a mixture of fresh and more experienced faces.

Þ     We have a brand new website www.aberdeensnowsportsclub.org. This contains lots of new up-to-date info for members. Please let us know what else you would like on the site. This will now be our main means of communication, together with email.  You can contact us via info@aberdeensnowsportsclub.org.  If you received this letter by post, please also send us your email address as we do not have it.

Þ     The Ski & Snowboard Mart is being revived after a break – Saturday 13^th December 2008 at Harlaw Academy. Drop off items for sale between 9am and 12pm; members access to sale 1pm; public access 1.30pm-3pm.

Þ     We are working with the Aberdeen Snowsports Centre to make the centre the home base for the club. Further information will be provided in the coming weeks. 

Þ     We are also working on a junior performance coaching programme and are currently looking for a suitable coach. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please contact us!

Þ     We are continuing our participation in the Glenshee Performance Squad, a junior performance programme, which trains at Glenshee on Saturdays/Sundays after the New Year. If anyone is interested, please contact us!

Þ     We are creating a forum on our website where members can arrange to share lifts to the mountains in return for sharing fuel costs.

Þ     We are organising the John Clark BMW East of Scotland Children’s Championships at Glenshee on 31/1/09 to 1/2/09.

Þ     Social events start with a Christmas party organised by the Aberdeen Snowsports Centre at Garthdee from 5.30pm-7.30pm on Sat. 13^th December. Club members are invited along free of charge.
