Craig Macfie passed away 19th November 2011 as a result of a tragic accident in Eugene, Oregon when his bicycle was hit by a car.
Craig, originally from Edinburgh, was a former ASC member and used to train regularly at Glenshee. He also studied at Aberdeen University. He was an exceptionally talented athlete who skied for the Scottish and GB Alpine Teams as well as, latterly British Universities. He was known for his dogged commitment to his sport, his quirky sense of humour, being able to smile and bounce back after injury as well as his physical and mental strength.
Craig accomplished much in his all too short life and lived life to the full.
Paraphrasing his American friends at his memorial service in Eugene this week … he was a goofy fun loving guy who never got stressed about the small stuff.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 9.45am on Saturday the 26th of November 2011 at the Mortonhall Crematorium, Edinburgh.
Renowned Scottish Masters skier and great friend of many in ASC, George Stewart, to carry Olympic Torch.
